Colliers is delighted to be exclusively appointed to market Akarua's 25 Steps Vineyard in Pisa, Central Otago with its unique blend of soils and aspects creating a truly special pinot noir wine.
Visiting this particular vineyard takes your breath way with the sheer drama of its terraced slope, panoramic mountain and lake views and the clever layout to make the most of the varied aspects and soils. 25 Steps is positioned on an ancient glacial slope, carved with 800 metre long terraces each step having two rows of vines, creating a rather dramatic effect on its landscape.
The aspects also account for all four points of the compass and each vine grows under varying conditions in elevation, soil, sun and wind exposure. This results in a wide range of tannins, acidity, colour intensity and flavour.
Planted in a mix of pinot noir clones from Pommard and Dijon over 9 hectares, this vineyard is a study in the "growing" of a complex wine.
Wine from this particular vineyard is specifically hand-harvested and produces a single vineyard wine which Akarua's viticulturist calls a "terroir field blend".

There is flexibility from Akarua to set aside fruit from the 2022 vintage for a potential purchaser.
