Don Mackay

Don joined Barfoot & Thompson following a 25 year career in marketing and advertising agency management. Over that time, he had the pleasure to work on some of New Zealand’s best brands, included among them are; Cerebos Greggs, Masport, Yves Saint Laurent, NZ Post, Sanitarium, NZI, SPCA, Lion Nathan, SuperLiquor, Montana & Babich Wines, Dive HQ, and Watties.

Born and educated in Wellington, Don and his family have lived on the North Shore, since moving to Auckland.

He has personally been involved in the construction of four homes and extensively renovated two others himself, he understands property and the real estate market, particularly on the North Shore.

One of his great pleasures (and frustrations) in life, is a round of golf with his friends.

Among other things, Don also enjoys working on personal projects –he has learned to weld steel using a Mig Welder, bought a compressor and taught himself to spray paint.

He has rebuilt a 1987 Mazda Ute from a wreck, built a steel trailer, and restores outdoor furniture.
