European inspired luxury was the background that took the initial lead for the look of the home, and Auckland architect Alister Kitchen was assigned the task of adapting the owners extensive wish list and brief. The choice of solid masonry construction (Firth Hot Bloc) evolved as part of the original brief for the home to be strong, quiet, warm in winter and cool in summer.
