Riley Blackham

Timaru?s Blackham family have been leaders in local real estate since circa 1962 when Dick Blackham established the firm.

The company has now been in the South Canterbury real estate business for three generations. And for more than 27 years it has been part of the Harcourts Real Estate group, established in 1888.

The firm is now headed by Riley Blackham, who took over from his father David on 1 April 2018.

?As a kid growing up I wanted to go into the business with my father and grandfather,? he said. ?Then, for a while as a teenager I thought I might be a mechanic because I was really into cars, but I started as a property

manager with my father when I was 18 and have filled every role in the company from reception to managing a team, sales rep, managing a larger team and then business owner at age 25.?

Blackham & Co Harcourts is the biggest real estate agency throughout the Timaru District ? and South Canterbury - in terms of staff numbers, sales and offices. And Harcourts itself is the largest real estate group in the country.
