Leanne has had family ties with the Bay of Islands for over 50 years, her grandparents, parents and brother all living here since the early seventies. Leanne herself was born in Tauranga, and moved to Wellington to further her career with the New Zealand Railways and became the second female Train Controller in the Southern Hemisphere. She then completed her OE, and moved to Christchurch for a couple of years.
She came back to Wellington, and another position with the Railways as their Operations Assistant, until her daughter came along, and the decision was made to move closer to her parents who had relocated to Paihia from Tauranga. Her father was a local character nicknamed Smoky, as he smoked Marlin and supplied the local restaurant with fresh seafood for many years.
Leanne has had a varied career, most recently as Branch Manager for ANZ & National Bank in Kerikeri. Leanne worked for ANZ for 12 years in Managerial Roles in Paihia, Wellington, Lower Hutt Upper Hutt and Kerikeri.
These positions have enabled Leanne to deal with any situation in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner. She has a wealth of experience in Sales and Customer service and Property Management.
Leanne is married to Bryan who has continued the family fish smoking business. She has one daughter and two stepchildren, all graduates working in Invercargill, Wellington & Auckland.
Interests include playing bad golf, ballroom dancing, boating, walking and travel.
