James Higgie

James Higgie has notched up over 20 years experience in the Wellington real estate market across the residential and commercial sectors. Having joined Bayleys Wellington in 1996, it is in the area of commercial and industrial sales and leasing that he has made his mark, specialising in the Wellington CBD, Thorndon and Hutt Road areas. Notwithstanding this James has experience across the wider Wellington region including fish processing plants in Island Bay through to bulk retail and Industrial properties in the Hutt Valley and Porirua Basin. Tenacity is a trademark of James’ approach to business and his longevity in this competitive industry is defined by a ‘never give up’ attitude which has resulted in some outstanding real estate deals. Given the challenging economic times that have beset the country in recent years, James has regularly been called upon by corporate clients to sell or lease surplus properties in central Wellington. He has also gained a reputation for handling challenging properties and projects outside the scope of usual offerings. These included the marketing of a portfolio of 17 inner-city bypass properties for New Zealand Transport Agency. The high-profile campaign that he facilitated generated over 400 enquiries with 85 tenders received and the successful sale of 15 of the properties. Whilst preferring to be judged on the results that he achieves for his clients, James is a REINZ award winner and in 2010 received the Bayleys National Marketing Award – a coveted accolade which is contested by agents from across the 60-strong Bayleys office network.
