Aaron Standen

When Aaron arrived in Ohope in 2010 to take up a role as Sales Engineer for the well-known, local engineering company AIE, he knew he had found a special place. When his wife (Belinda) and their four children (James 17, Sarah 15, Reuben 11 and Rachel 9) arrived four weeks later they realized they had upon a rare and unique paradise!!

Having grown up in Tauranga and having spent time living in Rotorua, Auckland and Hamilton, Both Aaron and Belinda knew they had found a very special place!! With the Pacific Ocean on their front doorstep and Te Urewera as their backyard, the community feel as embodied by the friendly locals and the lifestyle available to any that would embrace the natural surroundings, Aaron and Belinda decided to put down long term roots and call this place “home”. Subsequently, all four of their children have attended Ohope Beach Primary, with one now at Whakatane Intermediate and two at Trident High School and they have invested in property in Ohope.

Aaron’s career to date has had a focus on engineering, but over the last 10 years, the focus has been clearly on sales. When quizzed by colleagues and friends regarding this change in career, Aaron is candid regarding how big the change is; “The fundamentals of sales are the same whether selling widgets, services, projects or property. At the end of the day, it is people dealing with people and people want to do business and deals with people they can trust.” Aaron is a strong believer in doing right by people and his focus on customer care has seen him succeed in his career to date.

Aaron is excited and invigorated by the challenge ahead, quietly confident of success given his career to date and strong work ethic.
