This newly developed orchard on top volcanic soils is located in the heart of some of the highest-yielding orchards in the district.
Featuring 2.38 canopy hectares of Gold G3 Kiwifruit planted in 2018, the block yielded 34,575 trays this year, or 14,527 per canopy hectare, a big increase from its first crop last year yielding 25,557 trays, or 10,738 trays per canopy hectare. Also, the vendor's other mature orchard on the same road is regularly yielding well above the district average.
No Hi-Cane was used and the block was treated with Armobreak®M2 with good results.
