Waiuku Large scale Kiwifruit Orchard

This well-established 25.3ha (more or less) Export Kiwifruit orchard is located south of Auckland on the outskirts of Waiuku township. Willowbank Orchard was established by the Heard family, of Barley Sugar fame, in the 1980’s - the site was chosen for its rich fertile soils and plentiful water supply.

With just over 16.6 canopy hectares of kiwifruit vines, comprising approximately 9.98ha (more or less) of Hayward Green, 5.2ha (more or less) of SunGold and 1.48 ha(more or less) of Sweet Green varieties. The kiwifruit orchard features a metalled pack-out & loading area, central access with herring bone avenues and a variety of outbuildings to hold machinery and for orchard management.

Water is supplied onsite from a 173m (more or less) deep water 6” bore (more or less) with a recently renewed consent for commercial water take providing the confidence of ongoing supply.

The dwelling is a large four-bedroom character weatherboard home with double garage that is nestled the heart of the orchard. The dwelling is occupied by long term tenants.

Large scale Kiwifruit orchards close to the Auckland city are tightly held due to their substantial earning capacity and Willowbank fits nicely within investment portfolios, for buyers looking to secure Export based income, in the Horticultural sector. The orchard is fully managed by Auckland Packhouse and Cool-store APAC which means that investors can continue on with a hands off approach if preferred.

Willowbank’s location on the southern fringe of Waiuku offers a strategic land-banking location with good holding income as your investment matures. The orchard has become an integral part of the Waiuku community, with many generations of families having worked on, or purchased fruit from the orchard in the past.

This is an excellent opportunity to invest in a orchard that has scale. There is room for redevelopment or to re graft new varieties onto the well established root stock or continue to harvest as established.

Viewings by appointment welcome.
