Kawau Island Rare Island Paradise

Once owned by Governor George Grey, Lot 7 is one of the largest remaining parcels of Rural and Coastal Settlement Zoned land on the island. The property is located on the western side of the island and forms part of the headland that runs between North Cove and Bon Accord Harbour. The topography is characterised as being hilly and dominated by a valley that runs from east to west with ridge lines that run parallel to the north and south and an escarpment that unfolds into Smelting House Bay. The property is predominantly covered in regenerating Manuka, Kanuka and Ponga with the occasional pine and a stand of Kauri trees in the central valley. Kawau's more temperate climate and the extensive bush and tranquility provide a very natural habitat for a very active bird life including Wood Pigeons, Fantails, Kingfishers, Rosellas and the flightless Weka and Kiwi.

Access to the property is from Smelting House Bay where the owner will enjoy a permanent berth on an all tide shared jetty and floating pontoon, with road access up to the first ridge line of the property, while to the north the property looks down into North Cove and enjoys extensive views across Kawau Bay back to the mainland.
