The spectacular harbour is also ideal for windsurfing or kite boarding, or exploring the meandering pathways through the mangroves on your paddle board.
There is a boat ramp just a couple of minutes drive away and you can also launch easily off the beach near the mouth of the harbour, about a 5-minutes drive in the other direction. From there you have a huge range of fishing and diving options.
East Beach with its beautiful white sand is a secluded gem with great swimming and surfing and is a just 7 minutes away.
Kaimaumau is centrally located in the Far North. Both east and west coasts are not far away. A local shop at Waiharara is 8 minutes drive and Kaitaia is a pleasant 30 minute drive. Going north, the popular village of Pukenui is a 20 minute away and has a super market, cafe, bottle store, restaurants and other amenities.
