Nga Whare Manatu is a successful luxury retreat established in 2022 up on The Downs of Geraldine, and is one of only two 5 Star Qualmark Boutique and Lodge Accommodation businesses in South Canterbury.
There are four separate whares, all designed to reflect the natural environment, that have been built with a mix of natural and raw materials, such as exposed steel beams, architectural timber walls and ceilings, natural tile floors, corten steel cladding and exposed aggregate concrete outdoor areas each with their own hot tub. Each whare has underfloor heating, a heat pump and reticulated gas and one is fully accessible. Being set discreetly among an undulating 2ha's of native bush remnants, with extensive contouring and recent native plantings ensuring privacy and unique views for guests, who are also able to enjoy the night stars through the over bed skylights.
There is also a 150m2, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom dwelling on an adjacent 5,324m2 (separate title), providing significant opportunities for further evolution of Nga Whare Manatu, Owner/Manager accommodation, or a private home.
