Pat Portas

Property Brokers Rural real estate consultant, Pat Portas has been selling farms in Central Hawke’s Bay since 1991.  Highly respected throughout the industry and amongst the local farming communities, Pat’s career has seen him step foot onto almost every piece of land in the region.

Deeply involved in the rural scene in Central Hawke’s Bay, both as a land owner himself since 1981 and as a Real Estate Consultant, Pat was elected in 2007 as the ex-cadet representative on the Smedley Board.  Smedley Station is a 5,000 hectare training farm in Tikokino bequeathed to the crown in 1919 for the education of young people in agriculture.  “At a time when the country is supposed to be going through a recession, it is great to see there is still a huge desire for young people to be involved in the agricultural sector.” Pat

Pat, along his wife Joy and their 12 sheep, live on their Takapau farm which is currently leased to local dairy farmers.  Pat’s interests include fishing, rugby and being involved in his children’s pursuits.   He is a family man with family values.
