Michele Binnie

Michele began her real estate career in Whangamata at the end of 2000 completing almost 6 years to August 2006, achieving a company nomination for rookie of the year, other quarterly awards, and Premier member status in that company. 2010 saw one year selling in New Plymouth before moving to Kapiti. In 2014 Michele returned to the industry before joining Tall Poppy in January 2015. Experiencing a variety of big name real estate companies over the years, Michele learnt first-hand that the internet had changed the job description of a salesperson in the locations she worked in. Buyers did their research on the internet; they did not rely on agents to find them property; they went directly through the listing agent online; they did not walk into real estate offices. Michele was forced to refocus her efforts into finding and selling her own listings - rather than combining this with selling her colleagues’ listings. At Tall Poppy she found the perfect vehicle for the new job description and with the extra responsibilities put on the industry via the Real Estate Agents Authority - demanding that listing agents follow strict disclosure protocols and conduct - having one agent control all facets of the sales process proved empirically logical to Michele. Having paid whopping commissions for the sale of her own properties, Michele was also attracted by the flat fee system. Michele sells from Paekakariki to Ohau, working out of the Otaki franchise.
