Marie has a strong passion for people, marketing and negotiation. She prides herself on her ability to listen and communicate with people from all walks of life. Marie is dedicated to her clients, stays in constant communication with all parties and ensures no stone is left unturned. Marie´s previous experience is in sales and marketing stretches from Europe, UK all the way to New Zealand. She grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Taihape and now lives on one in Stanway on Makino Road. This association with all things farming makes Marie an ideal person to market your lifestyle property or farming operation.

It’s an early start for Marie Frost. Long before her clients see her tidily dressed and talking real estate, Marie is in wet weather gear and gumboots, tending to 120 calves and discussing with her partner stock movements over the 500 acre farm on Makino Road Stanway.

As a rural, farm and lifestyle real estate agent for Harcourts, Marie gets to talk about her favourite things all day. Being intimately involved in farming gives Marie an easy introduction to people in rural areas around the region; Halcombe, Rongotea, Taihape, Marton and Bulls.

Marie says getting into real estate was a pretty natural progression after being made redundant from Property and Commercial Insurance Brokers in Feilding.

“I took it as a push in the right direction and made the effort to train as a real estate agent and I’m very glad I did.”

Harcourts have embraced her experience and expertise, appreciating the ready rapport Marie has with farmers and lifestylers. It’s also her own reality as her home farm is raising beef and a few sheep. Marie’s morning stint with the calves takes two hours, a warming start to what can be a very long day.

Marie  likes to dress smartly but sensibly when visiting clients. It adds to her credibility to be down-to-earth in her attire but she says there has been the odd occasion when she’s arrived looking a little too earthy, being caught out with gumboots on and a nice dash of mud after something unexpected has happened.

“You’ve just got to laugh and fortunately clients are very understanding, it’s all part of living in the country.”
