Originally from Auckland, I have owned properties and resided on the island for over 13 years. For 8 years I commuted to Auckland (so earned my commuter status!) where I worked for an upmarket corporate travel group as their Relationship Manager. I still like to keep attune with “city life” and have had several stints living off island, which helps to keep perspective but somehow Waiheke seems to get under your skin and draws you back time again!
Whilst it may not have been the most sensible economic time to start in real estate, it was certainly was the right time for me to branch out and work for myself, when I joined Harcourts four years ago. I believe the current climate has suited my personal style and approach as I am very empathetic to people’s situations. I pride myself on doing a professional job and take my responsibilities seriously and enjoy the relationships I form both with my vendors and buyers. Many start as strangers, end up as friends. I enjoy the diversity of doing real estate on Waiheke where the properties range from bach’s to mansions, the prices from $100,000 to $1m plus, the people from hermits to high flyers. In January 2011 I joined Waiheke Real Estate who celebrating their 50th year of operation this year on the island, with a outstanding reputation for their long standing staff, friendly service and outstanding sales record.
