Living Corporation founder Judd de la Roche has always been self-employed. A country boy, he found farming a bit lonely and decided to pursue his interest in property and property investment by entering real estate in 1995.
Not surprisingly he started out in rural properties but eventually branched out, completing his REINZ associateship allowing him to have his own company.
Judd’s list of agent attributes start with attitude, something he says you can’t teach. He also believes that communication and customer service is paramount. “Customer service wins you repeat business and repeat business is the best business.”
The belief is put into practice by giving people the information they need, such as feedback from the open homes, so the company can help clients get the premium for their house.
Judd sees the technology race as one of the biggest challenges for the industry and he is looking to ensure
Living Corporation provides quick and meaningful information, especially through the web.
He urges anyone looking to sell their property not to base their choice of company or agent on cost or fees. “Pay top dollars for top agents” – it will pay you back many times over – and invest in the best advertising you can.”
Judd says farming taught him all about resilience and dealing with the market ups and downs.
