John Faulkner

John has been involved in the dairy farming industry for thirty years, the last fifteen as owner of dairy farms in the Amuri Basin. Prior to relocating to the South Island, John spent time working in Agri Business Banking. This has given him a sound understanding of the financial process involved in rural property transactions. His understanding of the financial process from investigation, proposal preparation, approval and settlement supported by successful collaboration and relationship building are hallmarks of Johns approach to business development.

Training in collaboration supported by academic qualifications in Commerce and Agri Business Management have given John the discipline, skills and experience to provide a high level of professional service to prospective clients.

John has been actively engaged within the Canterbury Water Management Strategy process since 2010 and is the current Chair of the Hurunui Waiau Zone Committee providing him with an understanding of the regional council nutrient management regulations influencing landowners. Within his own business strategy and clients’ needs he recognises the importance of environmental constraints in assessing and setting a successful long term Agri Business strategy.

John has a Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce from Lincoln University, a Diploma in Management Studies from Waikato University and has completed a number of banking and Rural Valuation courses.
