I have a passion for business and am driven by getting results.  This is combined with a wealth and diversity of business ownership and senior management experience spanning the FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and travel industry sectors. I have been involved in a number of successful start-ups and new product initiatives as well as consulting, lecturing and writing extensively on the subjects of business: planning, development, sales, valuation, marketing and franchising.

My business career in New Zealand began in 1983 when I established a jewellery wholesaling and manufacturing business, which became a key supplier to numerous jewellery and fashion outlets as well as multinational marketers including Avon and Amway in Australia and New Zealand.  Its products were also exported throughout the Asia Pacific region.

After selling my business in 1997, I further pursued my interest in business and its development by undertaking an MBA.  This led to me participating in a variety of business start-ups and business development projects with clients including The Warehouse and Progressive Enterprises Limited in New Zealand and travel.com.au in Australia. On the successful completion of one of these projects, I took on the position of General Manager to oversee a 2-year strategy implementation for a multinational travel retailer. Following this role, I expanded my interests to advising business immigrants. Over the past 16 years, I have worked with many of New Zealand's better-known immigration advisers and lawyers offering their client base of overseas investors and entrepreneurs a range of services including:

- Business planning

- Business Acquisition

- Business Establishment and Development

- Succession and exit planning.

For the past 10 years, I have also worked in franchise development consulting.   Over this time, I have been involved in the development and support of numerous successful franchise systems including The Coffee Club and Link Business Broking franchises.

 My focus during my business career has been:
