Arriving in Ponsonby in 2010, via an early real estate sales career in Christchurch, and an upbringing on a sheep and beef farm in the Central North Island, Gower has spent over a decade leading Ray White Damerell Group. A team that now comprises over 70 high performing salespeople, property management and support team members.
As a real estate salesperson in Christchurch, Gower cut his teeth during the Global Financial Crisis- a period of trading that required him to develop many of the skills he utilises today. Now his team service over 2500 buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants annually. With offices in Greater Ponsonby & the North Shore- the breadth of market that the team covers is substantial.
Gower’s role is to work closely with those team members who aspire to growth, through a well honed coaching and development program. That program has a track record of producing some of the best salespeople inside of the Ray White Group & the industry. He works closely with Jacki (who leads the Ponsonby Team) & Joe (who leads the North Shore team) who are deep inside each of our team members' businesses and are focused on creating a culture of support combined with high performance.
Today, Ray White Ponsonby is the number one selling agency in Greater Ponsonby- with a team culture more positive, ambitious and humble than at any time in our history. As a challenger brand on the North Shore- the team is focused on growing and developing a strong team & auction culture, and in the past two years have enjoyed significant growth. As a team Damerell Group has been recognised consistently by Ray White with the Chairman's Elite designation as a top 2% Ray White Business Internationally.
While Gower also possesses a Bachelor of Law & Diploma in Business Studies (Real Estate), his greatest challenge as a lifelong learner has been developing from one of Ray White’s youngest business owners to the leader of his business. He views the journey of leadership development as one that is his greatest challenges and opportunities.
Outside of Real Estate Gower loves playing Squash and Golf, although his competitiveness and skills often do not align. Living in Grey Lynn with his wife Belinda, son Willie & daughter Rosa who attend the local preschool, as locals they love the Grey Lynn park, the West Lynn Village, and the easy walk up to Ponsonby Road- it is a truly phenomenal lifestyle. As a family they are about to embark on a project renovating their 1900s villa- which will allow Gower to jump back into his favourite pastime of gardening.
