The micro-grid energy design requires a combination of solar arrays on each house, and the development will also have three medium sized wind turbines as well as the hydro-electric system. Jacksons Creek development creates sustainable energy on site utilising natural sources - each dwelling will be connected to a sustainable micro-grid power system which will still be attached to the main grid for surety of supply, but will also have the ability to sell back to the main grid at times of peak demand driving remuneration to the shareholders...you the owners.

Of course, all you will need to do is turn on a switch and you'll have power - it's not complicated.

Other infrastructure includes widening the entrance from Paekakariki Hill Road and creating a dedicated lane, sealing the access road, drainage and construction of the sustainable power systems.

The development covers costs for roading and other infrastructure, however each owner will be responsible for creating their own building site/driveway/water and septic tank/solar array as is typical in a rural setting.
