Kurakura Farms is an established self-contained dairy farm with a beef finishing component. The current owners have farmed this land for over 25 years and converted to dairying in 1996. Of the 387ha (more or less), approximately 202ha is dedicated to the dairy platform, 146ha to dairy support/beef and 39ha is in native bush. The property has a mix of contour with approximately 100ha flat to rolling contour, 170ha medium hill and 117ha of steep or ineffective.

Subdivided by State Highway 4 and connected by an underpass, the farm is in six titles and features extensive races to ensure easy management. The 37 aside herringbone with new cup removers and 350 cow rectangular yard has milked between 360 and 500 cows each season. Supplying Fonterra, the average milk production for the past 3 years is 153,038kgMS. There is a range of farm infrastructure including a 5-bay implement shed with power, 12-bay calf shed, 3-stand woolshed and two haybarns. Three homes plus a self-contained sleepout provide accommodation for family and staff.
The effluent system is a two-pond system with a tractor pump to 90mm lines with 2 irrigators covering both sides of the highway and approximately 27ha. Water for the farm is sourced from both a bore and a spring, with a separate spring supplying the dwellings.
A large duck pond and area of native bush add to the attractiveness of the property and provide opportunities for keen hunters.
